Aaron Medick was recently honored during this year's Cinematographer Awards on Sept. 21st at the Directors Guild of Amercia. His short film, Para-Normal, was screened at the ceremony. International Cinematorgapher Guild (ICG) president Steven Poster describes the awards as a platform “To honor the best of the new. We get to demonstrate the talents of seven exciting cinematographers. We hope this will be the first time of many that you will see these artists on the screen.” Aaron's short film was 1 of 7 selected for the Emerging Cinematographer Award out of the 60 contestants entered. 2081 is the short film based on legendary author Kurt Vonnegut's short story Harrison Bergeron. The film features an original score by the Kronos Quartet(Requiem for a Dream), is narrated by Academy-Award nominee Patricia Clarkson, and stars James Cosmo, Julie Hagerty, and Arnie Hammer.

Puppy Love is the latest project from Director of Photography Jendra Jarnagin. The scripted series examines the relationships between people and their dogs. Brought to you by "Sex and the City" writer-producer Amy B. Harris, this series is sure to be a hit.

Matthew MacCarthy's latest short film, Before I Wake, was awarded first place in The 2008 Doorpost Film Project Short Film Competition. Paralyzed by the memories of pains past, therapist Ryan Mason has been given the opportunity to walk towards freedom, deliverance, intimacy and the hope for the abundant life he has always desired-if he is willing to face the past and make the seemingly impossible choice to release it. A Girl and A Gun, Melissa Bruning's writing and directorial debut, won Best Original Short at the Washougal International Film Festival. A Girl and A Gun takes the viewer on a wild ride of what is expected and what is unexpected. Damages has been nominated for five Emmy's including “Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series”, (Allen Coulter)  “Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series” (Julie Tucker, Ross Meyerson), “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” (Ted Danson), “Outstanding Drama Series”, and “Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series” (Todd A. Kessler). Daniel Valverde edited Season One of Damages and is currently editing Season Two.

Harold is a comedy about a teenager stricken with male-pattern baldness at the unfortunate age of 14, starring Spencer Breslin and Cuba Gooding Jr. Cinematographer Chris Lavasseur, Makeup Artist Amanda Korfine, Costume Designer Mary Margaret O'Neill and 1st AD Chris Carroll all recently worked on the feature film.

Patrick Donnelly's Divergence has recently been accepted into the upcoming Jersey Shore Film Festival. This marks the 17th and last festival in which the film has made an appearance, after winning "Best Feature Film" at 4 others as well as an Honorable Mention and nominations for Best Acting. Travis Nicholas Zariwny recently directed the TV pilot Campus Daze. A show about a dorky boy on his journey to fitting in with the 'college scene' after graduating from high school earlier then his peers. Although a bit socially awkward, he is immediatley taken in by his new friends and is exposed to a whole new world of experiences.

Chris Martini was recently interviewed in Cinequest's Discover newsletter promoting his short film, The Stone Child. Chris discusses how his interest in film developed from childhood, as well as how he was inspired to create the heartfelt story of a young boy coming to terms with his own identity in the midst of his parents' divorce. Brown is working on the film Nice Town starring Angie Stone. January the 9th Production Designer Travis Zariwny started work on the feature film Wake. Production Designer Laura Hyman and Costume Designer Amy Bradshaw are currently in prep on The Undying.

CEC congratulates Mary Margaret O'Neill on giving birth yesterday November 4, 2007 to a beautiful and healthy baby girl Sophia Elizabeth , the newest member of our growing family. Sophia weighs 8lbs and 4oz and is 20 1/2 inches long.

The CEC family welcomes Line Producer Michael D. Jones. He has worked on projects such as Elephant, The Guardian, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, and Spiral. Costume Designer Melissa Bruning just wrapped the feature film "Five Dollars a Day" starring Christopher Walken, Allessandro Nivola, Sharon Stone, and Amanda Peet.
 

Cinematographer Patrick Donnelly recently hit the streets with Rilo Kiley and shot a video of the band playing their song "The Moneymaker" live. You can watch the video at MTV's Artist of the Week.

	Jendra Jarnagin became the first woman in the world to shoot with the highly anticipated RED digital camera while participating in some test shoots for OffHollywood Studios.  Steadicam Operator Afton Grant also participated.  His Steadicam became the first ever to fly and shoot with the new camera after the RED's initial delivery.

CEC welcomes to our roster Jendra Jarnagin. Jendra recently completed Additional Photography on the feature film The Wreck, shot on the Grass Valley Viper Filmstream camera. Also shot on the Viper, her Diet Coke cinema commercial was showcased by Thomson Grass Valley at their NAB press event. Jendra was honored to serve as a panelist on the DP Round Table at this year’s NAB conference in Las Vegas.

CEC’s very own Jeffrey T. Brown, cinematographer for Plain White T’s Video “Hey There Delilah,” won 2007’s 16th Annual MVPA Award for Best Video Produced for Under $25,000. Congrats to Jeffrey!
